Köthe's smooth, precise painting style creates a hyperrealistic surface, while the arrangement appears surreal at the same time. The dense, almost claustrophobic arrangement of individual motor parts fills the pictorial space and leaves hardly any free background. It is a characteristic example of Köthe's technique, in which the aesthetic effect is consistently placed in the foreground.
