D. 23.5 cm. Faience, terre de Lorraine, polychrome painting on white tin glaze. Insects and inscription: "Danimaux malfaisans c'estoit Un très bon plat". Marked: Gallé à Nancy (brown, handwritten), St. Clément (blue glaze stamp).
Small chip in the glaze on the edge.

Gallé designed a similar motif as early as 1864 for his 'Fables' set, cf. Thiébaut, Les Dessins de Gallé, Paris 1993, S. 65.
