On October 15, 2025, we will be auctioning nearly 170 impressive works in our Modern and Contemporary Art auction.

The spatial integration 'Sphärische Hohlspiegelwand' by Adolf Luther is a unique object from the early 1970s that creates a seemingly infinite space with 48 concave mirrors. In a fascinating interplay of light and reflection, the work transforms material structure into immaterial light phenomena – a central concern of Luther's. As an important representative of light and object art, Luther deliberately integrated his works into architectural spaces in order to atmospherically connect art and environment. The work is now being offered publicly for the first time and has an estimated price of EUR 40,000 - 60,000.

Joseph Beuys also made the viewer or the human being an essential part of his art. Both artists sought new ways of understanding art beyond the purely aesthetic, which Beuys achieved through his approach to social and spiritual processes. Beuys' chalk drawing on the panel offered here was created in the context of documenta 6 during a lecture at the 'Free International University' (FIU, also known as the Free International University for Creativity and Interdisciplinary Research). The panel is not an isolated work of art, but a visible manifestation of his idea of art as a social and spiritual process. It not only documents thoughts, but also opens up a space for collective thinking and discussion. The work was formerly owned by Jürgen Schweinebraden, who probably received it as a gift, and has an estimated price of EUR 40,000–60,000.

You can also look forward to four XXL and SUMO editions from Taschen Verlag on the works of various artists. Particularly noteworthy are the three limited editions on Zaha Hadid, David Hopper, and Neo Rauch, which are no longer available from the publisher. All of them are in their original slipcases, are signed, and some include an original print, which makes them all the more interesting as collector's items. The estimated prices range from EUR 3,500 to 9,000.

Our company has already achieved very pleasing results with James Howell in the past. Now three more works by the American artist are coming under the hammer. The large-format acrylic paintings are each valued at EUR 5,000 - 10,000.

Of course, classical modernism is also represented in our auction. Discover works by Fernand Léger, Joan Miró, Marc Chagall, and Pablo Picasso. The latter, for example, is represented with an artist's proof outside the edition of 100 copies. The lithograph 'Scène d'interieur' from 1926 is estimated at EUR 4,000 - 7,000.
