Auction 157E

Jewelry and objects of vertu

01. July 2021 at 7:00 PM CEST

Filigree bracelets, imaginative cocktail rings, impressive necklaces - these pieces want to be paraded.

For the second time we dedicate an entire auction to 'Jewelry and objects of vertu' and are pleased to offer over 100 high quality works. In addition to classic models from famous brands such as Cartier or Vhernier, the offer is particularly captivating with powerful vintage jewelry that expresses pure joie de vivre.

Vegetative forms, such as the playful brooch with strawberries made of coral, make us look forward to summer (estimate 8,000 - 9,000 EUR). Especially charming companions are the caterpillar brooch by Vhernier made of rock crystal set with diamonds (estimated price 4.000 - 6.000 EUR) and the early insect brooch with multicolored gemstones (estimated price 600 - 800 EUR).

A highlight of this auction is the rare lady's watch 'Andine' by Cartier in a particularly luxurious version. The model from 1983 enchants with a fiery pavé trimming of the entire dial.

The two auctions 'Authors' Jewelry' and 'Jewelry and objects of vertu' on July 1 offered a nice selection for collectors and enthusiasts.

Graphic and kinetic works by Giampaolo Babetto and Pol Bury were particularly sought after. Babetto's high-contrast brooch in yellow gold with blue pigment almost doubled its starting price and was knocked down for EUR 6,000.

Among the highlights of the evening was the unique brooch/pendant by Gío Pomodoro, which was sold for EUR 15,000. Arman's jewelry pieces were also in high demand among bidders and were all sold. The highest hammer price was achieved by the abstract brooch 'Velo mauve' at 7.200 EUR.

Organic forms, such as the ginger objects by Sam tho Duong or the gentian flower by David Bielander also attracted bidders. The small caterpillar brooch by Vhernier, a very charming piece, changed hands for 5.000 EUR.

Unsold objects will be offered in the post auction sale until August 6.
