In 2007, Stéphane Duroy published the book 'Unknown' with Filigranes publishing house. It contains photographs he took on numerous trips across the United States, from New York to Montana. Due to a minor printing error, he received around 100 defective copies back, which could not be sold. Two years later, he revisited these books and began a lengthy process of work: he supplemented the original work with collages, newspaper clippings, anonymous photos, and abstract paintings, dissecting it over time. This lot includes both editions of the publication, as well as a collage created by the artist for the second version.
