Jürgen Leudolph (1937 Ilmenau - lives in Solothurn)
Demitasse Rosenthal, 2000

Mocha cup with saucer from Rosenthal and synthetic resin, which solidified when it spilled and was then electrolytically provided with a thick layer of silver (700 - 1500 my) and then coated with gold (60-80 my). H. 7.8 cm, Ø 12 cm. Philip Rosenthal became aware of Leudolph's work through a cup which the artist electrolytically reassembled from its shards with silver. The contact Rosenthal sought led to an electroforming work of art - this tilting mocha cup. The idea, technology and production were left exclusively to the artist; Rosenthal's only wish was to include Rosenthal porcelain. The takeover was prevented by the unexpected death of Rosenthal.
