Le Corbusier used this chair to furnish his 'Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau' at the 'Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs' in Paris in 1925 and also later in the houses and interiors he created; thus, in the vernacular, the chair is called Corbusier chair.
