'Frankfurt kitchen'

Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky. 'Frankfurt Kitchen', 1926. H. 230 x 296 x 60 cm; stove: H. 81.5 x 82.5 x 49.5 cm; free-standing shelf: H. 110 x 79.5 x 24 cm. Made by Grumbach, Frankfurt (attributed) for municipal works service, Frankfurt. Several kinds of wood, specifically chosen according to purpose (e.g. oak against vermin, beech for the worktop, softwood for the frame), painted blue, sink of cast metal, enamelled white, brass with patina, black linoleum, eight aluminium containers. Stove marked: ORIGINAL BOECKER.

The kitchen is not complete; several parts were replaced.
