Ted Noten installed a vending machine in Amsterdam's red-light district, similar to a snack vending machine. But instead of food, passersby had the opportunity to purchase a ring from the 'Red Light Design' series. "The idea was that a john, on the way to the woman of his choice, could conveniently pick up a ring and present it to her as a gift."
The items can be viewed and inspected prior to the auction; they all are, without exception, used and of a certain age. Their actual state of preservation is - corresponding to their age and their used state - not being referred to expressly in the catalogue and on the internet, but is agreed specification (cf.
