Costume Jewelry from the Lore Linnerz Collection

26. November 2022 - 13. December 2022

We are pleased to offer you over 200 stunning pieces from the estate of Cologne collector and benefactor Lore Linnerz. The proceeds of the charity auction will be donated to the 'Kölner Gymnasial- und Stiftungsfonds'.

Look forward to exceptional costume jewelry from renowned brands and designers. Around 50 objects are by Kenneth Jay Lane, one of the greats in the industry. For nearly 60 years, he outfitted fashion icons such as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn with his opulent jewelry pieces. Colored glass stones, enamel, base to precious metals - due to the wide range of materials used, there were no limits to the imaginative creations of the manufacturers. Thus, it is not surprising that even major fashion houses such as Dior, Escada, Givenchy and Versace created their own fashion jewelry lines. Clear Art Deco shapes line up next to abstract compositions. The figurative works are particularly attractive - let yourself be inspired by colorful motifs from flora and fauna!

The Linnerz couple established their fund in 2015 under the umbrella of the 'Kölner Gymnasial- und Stiftungsfonds'. Their aim was to support students at German universities with the appropriate academic talent for university studies and advanced scientific research, primarily in the fields of human medicine, natural and technical sciences, and linguistics and communication sciences.

"There would have been a whole range of nice things to promote and support. But we think that ultimately everything that makes life more beautiful must take a back seat to the absolutely indispensable requirement of medical help. Only when one is healthy and free of pain can one enjoy the beautiful things in life such as music, dance, theater, art, culture, etc." (Lore Linnerz, 2015).

The sense for the beautiful things in life is also reflected in the founder's fantastic collection of costume jewelry. Whether as a colorful gift under the Christmas tree or a playful vintage accessory for yourself - place your bids for a good cause from November 26 to December 13, 2022 in our online only auction.
