Biography

Peter Keler worked primarily as a painter, graphic artist and interior designer. Keler studied under Johannes Itten and Wassily Kandinsky at the Bauhaus in Weimar. After the Bauhaus moved to Dessau, he joined Kandinsky's studio. Among other things, he was responsible for the color scheme of the offices in the Faguswerk Alfeld and Walter Gropius' director's office in Dessau. After the war, he was appointed head of preliminary artistic training at the Hochschule für Baukunst und Bildende Künste in Weimar, which was founded in 1945.
