Biography

She is a historian, printmaker, sculptor, performance artist, singer and educator, but her most fearless medium seems to be bead works. Scott learned the crochet-like method called 'peyote stitch’, which allows her to work figuratively, from a Cree. Using virtuoso weaving techniques, she thus creates expansive beaded sculptures and necklaces that use powerful imagery to address or humorously comment on stereotypes, social inequality, and controversial political issues.
