Footstool 'Donkey', 1960s/70s

H. 39 x 22 x 76 cm.
Made by Omersa & Co., Lincolnshire.
Leather, dark brown.

Liberty & Co., London, presented a footstool in the shape of a pig as early as 1927. Dimitri Omersa knew the model and put it back into production in 1960 with his own designs. His first own design was an elephant. Abercrombie & Fitch included the 'animal' furniture in their program and offered it in the USA from the 1960s to the 1980s. Svenskt Tenn took over the distribution for the Scandinavian market.
