Neoclassical cylinder office, late 18th century

H. 114 cm, 121 x 64.5 cm. Fruitwood and various hardwoods veneered on softwood and oak. A straight, rectangular body with corners accentuated by pilasters rests on a narrow frame and tapered square feet. The segmented front features two drawers, visually connected by a shallow central projection, with inlaid ruin motifs. The domed cylinder lock includes a pull-out work surface and an inlaid floral motif with a large bow. The interior features staggered compartments. The upper section has three drawers. The entire surface is covered with wide, framed veneer panels, some in cube marquetry. Brass fittings and edges are further framed with brass profiles.
