In 1925 the 'Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes' opened its doors in Paris. The Pavilion Lalique was one of the most popular visitor attractions. René Lalique delighted all critics with the magnificent design of the dining room housed there. The flanks of the room were adorned with two imposing solid marble console tables, decorated with a delicate frieze of vine tendrils. This is one of the two pieces. The pavilion was designed in collaboration with architect Marc Ducluzeaud and cabinetmaker Charles Bernel.
