Josef Hoffmann. Flower basket, 1909. H. 17.7 x 29 x 9.1 cm. Made by Adolf Wertnik for Wiener Werkstätte. Silver, perforated, glass inset. Marked: WIENER WERKSTÄTTE, Diana's head (hexagon), JH, Rose mark, WW, silversmith AW.

The handle was restored and reinforced a long time ago. Provenance: This jardiniere and the following pieces from the silver workshop of the Wiener Werkstätte belonged to the interior of the Villa Schulenburg, Gera, which had been constructed under Henry van de Velde in 1913-15.
