'Matin fleuri' vase, so-called 'Verrerie-Parlante', 1895-97

Emile Gallé, Nancy. 'Verrerie-Parlante' 'Matin fleuri' vase, 1895-97. H. 19.9 cm. Cased glass, green, clear and milk pink. Etched and engraved pattern with flowers and buds of the clove pink (Dianthus caryohyllus), and inscription, gilded: MATIN FLEURI. Signed: Em GALLÉ, Cristallerie de Gallé Nancy with stylized blossom, the additional inscription: modèle et décor déposés is vaguely perceptible, but was erased with Martelé cut (!).
