Tall 'Tulipes de Perroquet' vase, circa 1897/98
Onion-shaped with a tall neck. H. 45.5 cm. Cased glass, colorless and light amber, with a slightly diagonally ribbed body at the base of the neck. Intercallaire decoration with brownish glass plates and greenish-blue powder inclusions with air bubbles. Polychrome enameled and gold-highlighted decoration with parrot tulips. Signed on the body, below the mouth: E, Cross of Lorraine, G (gold); on the base, an ornamental signature with a blossom in gold paint: Emile Gallé de Nancy fecit, EG, Cross of Lorraine.
