Elephant playing with a ball. H. 74.5 cm. Execution: Wiener Kunstkeramische Werkstätten Busch & Ludescher, Vienna. Earthenware, glazed gray and brown on white. Lampshade by Loetz, Klastersky Mlyn. Light amber glass, matted in the lower area, heavily crackled surface, silver-yellow fused crumbs, Phänomen Gre 377 decor, with a strong gold and pearlescent matte luster (c. 1900). Left hindleg signed: J or F. Werner (incised). Marked: Manufacturer's mark, 242/3 1 (embossed).
