'6009' chair, c. 1900

H. 76 x 60 x 56.5 cm. Beech bent wood, stained dark, plywood. Marked with maker's branding.

Le Cobusier used this chair 1925 to furnish his 'Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau' at the 'Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs' in Paris; also later in houses and interiors Le Corbusiers designed; thus, in the vernacularer it is called Corbusier chair.
