'Haus Leist' armchair, c. 1932

H. 86.5 x 69.5 x 84 cm. Made in Berlin. Oakwood with dark varnish, grey-blue textile fabric.

One of only two armchairs for the Leist mansion in Berlin, 1934. The other one can be seen at Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg. The chair, or a very similar chair, figures in the study of Mendelsohn's own house at Am Rupenhorn 6 in Berlin. Cf. Lit. Provenance: had been in the consignor's family since the 1930s. Copy of confirmation can be shown, thereafter private collection Berlin.
