Italian Design classics are in fashion.
With lively participation of mostly German and European Design lovers especially Italian Design of the 60ies to 80ies attained good results.
So, an illuminated table by Venini (246) reached € 7,500 and the ‚Ultrafragola’ mirror by Ettore Sottsass got hammered down at € 5,200,--. A drawing table by Poul Kjaerholm (167) changed hands for € 6,200,-- and Hans Wegner’s reclining chair, designed in 1958 (204) went to a Paris gallery for € 5,000,--. A Swiss dealer secured himself Max Bill’s ‚City’ Neon ad (395) for € 4,800,--. A ceiling light by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte, too, changed hands for € 3,300,--, and Franco Albini’s pair of side tables (142) stayed only just under its estimate and reached € 2,900,--. Gio Ponti’s ‚Sole’ sconce/ ceiling light was bought by a German dealer for € 2,400,--, as did an Italian console table with mirror for € 2,000,-- (109).
