Post auction report

After Ketterer Kunst experienced a great success with its first 21 lots, the highest single proceeds going up to € 220,000,--*, Quittenbaum continued the sale with lively participation of several German and International Museums.

Alma Siedhoff-Buscher’s child’s furniture went to a German public collection for € 15,300,--**. Another German institution secured itself the copper desk light by Christian Dell for € 6,630,--**. Marianne Brandt’s ball bar doubled its estimate (€ 9562,50,-- **) and will be part of a Scandinavian Museum, as will the Bauhaus telephone, that surpassed its estimate fivefold (€ 7,012,50**). An US-American institution got lucky after a bidding combat and won the coffee set by Karl Raichle for € 7767,50,--*** (estimate € 4,000,--) and a teapot by Hubert Griemert for € 2868,--*** (estimate € 1,300,--). Mies van der Rohe’s Weissenhof cantilevered chair with canework will be part of an Austrian collection for € 17,850,--** and the chess set by Josef Hartwig found a Dutch collector for € 10837,50,--**.

All in all, the cooperation of these two auction houses was a great success and was highly appreciated in professional circles.
